How to Read a Spread

Positions, context, and interpretation

How to Read a Spread

A spread is a layout where each position has a specific meaning. The card that lands in each position is interpreted through that lens.

Steps to Reading

1.Set your intention: What question or area of life are you exploring?

2.Shuffle: Clear your mind and focus on your question.

3.Draw: Place cards in the spread positions.

4.Read each position: What does this card mean in this context?

5.Find connections: Look for patterns, repeated suits, or themes.

6.Synthesize: What story are the cards telling together?

Tips

Position matters more than memorization. A "negative" card in an "advice" position means "avoid this."

Trust your first impression. Your intuitive hit is often right.

Look at the whole picture. Individual cards inform each other.

Reversed cards add nuance. Don't read them as simply "bad."
